Preschools

Everyone can benefit from training in emotional intelligence, social skills, coping strategies, self-regulation, positive thinking and relaxation that head and heart mindfulness provides –especially preschoolers!

The early childhood years for 3-6 years olds, is the perfect time to cultivate daily mindfulness, meditation, heartfulness and positive thinking skills. As it is a pivotal time in brain development, these skills can more easily develop into habits and become life skills.

In the years that Head and Heart Mindfulness has worked in preschools, we have found that children in this age group are generally the most responsive and engaged in our sessions.

When working in your early childhood service or preschool, a Head and Heart Mindfulness teacher will teach mindfulness following our exclusive Be Calm, Be Happy lesson framework.

At Head and Heart Mindfulness, we are trained to implement mindfulness programs with young children in fun, imaginative and developmentally engaging ways.

We will cater for the needs of your centre and integrate the best of our training into your mindfulness lessons to build greater emotional intelligence, self-regulation and social skills in your preschoolers.

Head and Heart Mindfulness offer ongoing 8 week face-to-face programs that include mindfulness, meditation and heartfulness best practise and practical skills in a range of program theme options including Big Feelings, Superstar Social Skills, I am Amazing (confidence), Bounce Back for Resilience, Manners Matter, and The Things I Love (gratitude).

We also have online options including our Mindfulness Resource Library that includes video, audio and PDF resources, and our 5 Mindful Minutes daily email subscription which are suitable for use in early childhood settings.

All sessions in preschools and resources meet important areas of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard. We can assist your early childhood service or preschool to reach the exceeding rating at your next assessment and rating.

Positive Feedback

“As a group our educators took part in mindfulness training with Kylie, we found this so beneficial both professionally and personally, we couldn't wait to share mindfulness with our children. Kylie is now sharing her mindfulness techniques and sessions with our children and we are finding it to be empowering and wonderful, our children are able to practice mindfulness throughout the day. We have found this to be an essential and rewarding experience for our Early Childhood environment as learning these skills from an early age helps children to develop key mindful skills to assist them throughout their life.”

-Kara, Nominated Supervisor King Street Community Preschool East Maitland

“We have lost count of the positive feedback that we have received throughout the year about the mindfulness classes that the children participate in each week with Kylie. Our educators are always hearing stories from parents about how their children are using mindfulness to self-regulate at home - including our students with additional needs.”

-Kassie, Former Nominated Supervisor Uniting Early Learning Adamstown Heights

“This term's children have responded so well to the program and your beautiful staff. You have created something so very special.”

-Rebecca Boland Nominated Supervisor, Clarence Town Preschool

“Maxwell has absolutely loved participating in the mindfulness program at preschool. Each week he has fondly recounted his experiences and demonstrated the different exercises he has learnt and enjoyed. At home he even role plays being the teacher, by instructing myself and his sister on different breathing exercises! As parents we feel the mindfulness program has been extremely beneficial to our child.”

-Suzette Thompson, mother a child attending George St Preschool East Maitland

“We can’t thank you all enough for an amazing year of Mindfulness Sessions It has been so beneficial and rewarding for all of our children and educators. We have loved having your staff with us this past year, we can’t wait for next year and to see what it brings.”
